PROJECTS

CHN is a UK-funded project that aims at establishing a cultural heritage network based at Sulaimani, the cultural capital of Kurdistan Region of Iraq, that engages, informs, and train local cultural heritage stakeholders from different sectors, fields, and locations through a series of public seminars, networking events, as well as workshops. Additionally, CHN project directors and researchers systematically investigate and research local cultural heritage challenges and opportunities in a participatory way. The project also involves youth capacity building and training in cultural heritage research and networking through its interns, volunteering and “pay forward” mentorship programs and initiations.

The project is co-directed by a team of experts and scholars from the Sulaimani Polytechnic University in Kurdistan Region of Iraq and the University of Reading and Leicester from UK.
